Essential Job Responsibilities:
Processes daily payment plan payments, posts automatic payment plan payments to patient accounts, evaluate declined payments for the initiation of the collection process Checks balances daily on future payment plan accounts to insure that no payments run automatically where a patient no longer owes Checks MRI paperwork and radiology report in patient charts for errors before submitting charges-sends task to Director to delete when incorrectly uploaded paperwork and reports are discovered Communicates with staff on a case by case basis to upload corrected paperwork and assign to correct date of service in patient charts Coordinates and communicates with Business Department staff regarding claims, claims denials, Single Case Agreements and makes revisions to charges and patient accounts when necessary Performs follow up on patient account balances Answers patient billing questions regarding patient balances Submits documentation for account adjustments for BOS Employee/ Family Discounts Performs account adjustments on self- pay discounted MRI claims Submits Patient refund requests after investigating whether an overpayment has occurred
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. 1 – 2 years’ experience in medical or related.
Other Requirements:
Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures, knowledge of health insurance industry practices and/or scheduling procedures highly preferred. Experience with medical scheduling/billing systems. Experience with EHR systems. Exceptional customer service, interpersonal skills, and communication skills Proficiency of electronic records systems preferred. Must have strong data entry skills. Must be able to complete tasks with a high-degree of efficiency and accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment with frequent disruptions.
