Defines end-user requirements, procedures prior to the implementation of their application areas. Confers with other departments to analyze and document current operational procedures. Identify problems and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data are to be summarized, and formats for reports. Prepares workflow charts and diagrams to specify operations to be performed by equipment, computer programs, as well as operations to be performed by personnel in using the system. Recommend alternative procedures for improvement of workflow, either manual or automated. Have an understanding of the operational and functional areas in the organization and have the ability to communicate effectively with clinicians in these areas. Required to make formal presentations and submit written reports for review purposes. Plans and prepares non-technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program usage. May prepare time and cost estimates for completing projects. May direct and coordinate work of others to develop, test, install, and modify programs. Promotes a positive and professional image of the Information Services & Technology Department and of Cape Fear Valley Health System.

EDUCATION AND FORMAL TRAINING

Bachelor’s degree in information technology or healthcare; work experience in lieu of formal education will be considered. Minimum 1 to 2 years of information systems experience, preferably in healthcare and with Epic, or with relative operational experience.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum of three years of information technology work experience required. Experience in Resolute (claims, AR, hospital and professional billing) and heavy operational experience is required. The Application Analyst II must demonstrate flexibility with respect to changing end-users business needs. Must have the ability to be open-minded and communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts: Must have current Epic certifications in Resolute Applications (Hospital Billing, Hospital Claims, Professional Billing, and Professional Claims). Required flight travel to Verona, Wisconsin as needed for any possible additional Epic certifications. Must demonstrate flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs. Must have the ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way; examining ideas from all angles. Must communicate information clearly and concisely with project leadership and subject matter experts. Must be able to use a computer effectively, type and take good notes. Good organizational and planning skills are required. Must be able to manage and motivate people. Must be able to resolve problems and conflicts effectively. Must be able to think logically. Must have an even temperament and be able to work well with people. Must be tactful, diplomatic, patient, and objective. Must be able to work within strict time constraints and be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project is preferred.
