Williams Community Health Center, Inc. is expanding and seeking a Billing Manager to join the team. We Are an expanding, successful, highly valued community centered healthcare provider with an active, engaged client base, facing the usual challenges of a growing organization. We are seeking a Billing Manager to lead our billing department. The ideal candidate wants to work in a forward-facing non-profit, Federally Qualified Health Center that lifts our underserved diverse population physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The ideal candidate oversees the management of billing operations, and patient accounts receivable for the organization. You want to use your understanding of the complete revenue cycle to improve the financial operations AND ensure we meet our mission to provide services to the historically underserved.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES

Perform as a practice expert at the department on all issues relating to billing and intake processes Supervise the billing/intake department operations; perform duties such as charge entry, payment posting, reimbursement management, referral intake and insurance verification, claim submissions, and accounts receivable follow-up Carry out audits of current procedures and processes, discover billing/intake operations areas to improve on and effect the necessary actions Train, allocate work, and resolve problems among billing office personnel Develop processes and procedures to ensure accurate and timely follow up, reduce A/R and aging accounts. Carry out analysis of trends affecting coding, charges, accounts receivable, and collection, and assign manageable tasks to billing staff Collaborate with other departments to get and analyze additional information about patients to be able to record and process billing effectively Ensure the billing/intake department carries out all its activities in accordance with its overall protocol, and also that they complied with payer, State, and Federal requirements, regulations, and guidelines Identify, improve and evaluate productivity bottlenecks within revenue cycle. Responsible for accuracy and completeness of billing, timely collection of patient accounts receivable and financial reconciliation. Review and maintain charge master. Ensure accurate and timely posting of charges and payments. Conduct regular staff meetings with the team to ensure department is adhering to deadlines. Must be proficient and comfortable in setting up systems and processes while working across all disciplines.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED

Minimum 5 years’ experience in medical billing/healthcare accounts receivable. Bachelor degree required. Previous supervisory/management experience required. Strong technology proficiencies in electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Experience with Practice Management Systems and related clearinghouses a plus. Coding experience with knowledge of proper modifier usage. Coding certification a plus. Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD10, CPT, and HCPC coding. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in successfully collecting outstanding medical accounts receivables is required. Must have solid knowledge of billing and financial concepts. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills required. Capable of making timely, independent decisions in an administrative setting. Excellent team building and management skills. Polished oral, written and interpersonal communications skills required to provide timely and exceptional customer service to patients and internal staff.
