Part Time Medical Record/Billing Clerk Law Office of Estwanik & May 118 South Colonial Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28207 Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Records/Billing Clerk to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for obtaining patient records and bills, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, and supporting the overall efficiency of the legal office. This role is crucial in maintaining the integrity of medical data and providing essential support to legal professionals. Responsibilities Request and update patient medical records in compliance with legal and regulatory standards. Ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG coding systems. Assist with medical billing processes, including verifying insurance information and processing claims. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure completeness and accuracy of medical documentation. Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with staff and clients. Organize and manage physical and electronic records, ensuring easy access for authorized personnel. Respond to requests for information from patients, insurance companies, and other healthcare entities in a timely manner. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical coding or health information management is preferred. Proficiency in
ICD-10, ICD-9
coding, DRG systems, and medical billing practices. Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical office procedures. Previous experience in a medical records or healthcare administrative role is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
