Full Job Description Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Revenue Cycle Specialist to join our team. As a Revenue Cycle Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely claims billing and collection and working denials for facility services. This position requires a strong understanding of medical billing, coding, and medical terminology.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Monitor billing for accurate and timely filing; Identify billing errors, coding errors and ensure timely rebilling. Follow up on outstanding claims, contacting insurance companies, to ensure maximum reimbursement. Analyze denied claims to identify denial reasons, and perform the necessary follow-up actions including appealing denied claims with appropriate documentation and justification. Review patient accounts to verify correct insurance billing information, update records as necessary, and resolve any discrepancies in patient account balances. Engage directly with patients to explain their bills, resolve billing inquiries, and set up payment plans for outstanding balances, ensuring a positive customer service experience. Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to revenue cycle activities, such as claim denial rates, time to payment, and outstanding accounts receivable, identifying resolution needed and taking appropriate action to resolve. Implement and adhere to compliance standards and regulations related to medical billing and coding, maintaining confidentiality of patient information in accordance with HIPAA guidelines. Submit claims electronically or via paper. Determine when to send accounts to collections, per policy.

Education, Experience, Training:

High School Diploma/GED certificate; Formal medical billing/coding training preferred. 3 years+ of experience in medical billing/accounts receivable experience. ASC helpful. Well versed in

CPT, HCPCS

Level II codes, ICD-10 Knowledge of insurance guidelines and reimbursement processes, e.g. Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payors and Workers’ Compensation.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

BLS or ability to obtain

Additional Skills:

Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Excellent customer service skills and ability to engage others over the phone. Ability to spend significant time on the phone and willingness to multi-task during long hold times and maintain composure. Ability to work in a fast paced-team environment while exhibiting strong interpersonal skills/teamwork. Detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple assignments promptly and effectively. Computer proficiency in a Microsoft Windows environment required. We offer competitive pay based on experience.
