Medical Billing Specialist Central Jersey Sports Med & Orthopedic Center Lakewood, NJ 08701 Single physician orthopedic practice seeking an experienced, professional and organized billing/coding specialist to join our team/family. Applicant MUST posses : ICD-10 experience and knowledge (CPC Certification preferred) Aggressive approach to outstanding AR and claim denials Thorough understanding of Medicare, managed care, and commercial health insurance laws Experience with electronic medical billing system/s (Cerner experience +) Proficient in use of MS Word and Excel Excellent customer service skills and telephone etiquette Superior communication, problem-solving and follow-up skills Ability to comprehend various insurance documentation, analyze/ reconcile accounts and follow detailed procedures in an organized and efficient manner The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for timely submissions of accurate insurance claims with subsequent timely follow-up and collection.

Additional duties include:

Coding and posting medical charges/payments to accounts in a timely and accurate manner Researching, resolving, resubmitting and/or appealing all denied claims in a timely manner as well as communicating with insurance companies Reviewing AR reports and following up to collect outstanding balances Mailing and managing patient statements / financial accounts Staying abreast of changes in contracts and insurance carriers • Please only qualified candidates apply • Pay is based on experience.
