The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing and coding for medical services provided. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to manage medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate timely payments and resolve any billing discrepancies. Responsibilities Review and process patient accounts for billing accuracy. Prepare, submit, and follow up on claims to insurance companies. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and ICD-9 for accurate billing. Maintain and update medical records in compliance with regulations. Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including payment plans or outstanding balances. Resolve any issues related to denied claims or payment discrepancies. Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Experience Proven experience in medical billing and coding is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology and medical records management. Knowledge of various coding systems, including ICD-10, ICD-9, and CPT codes. Experience working in a medical office setting is advantageous. Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Proficient in using medical billing software and systems.
