The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the billing process, ensuring accurate invoicing, and maintaining comprehensive records. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems, as well as proficiency in handling medical collections. The Billing Specialist will work closely with healthcare providers and insurance companies to facilitate timely payments and resolve any discrepancies. Duties Processing and filing medical and vision insurance claims ensuring accuracy and compliance with billing regulations. Review patient accounts for discrepancies and resolve billing issues through effective communication with patients and insurance providers. Maintain detailed records of billing transactions, payments received, and outstanding balances. Conduct follow-ups on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process to ensure timely payment. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to gather necessary information for accurate billing. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing or coding is preferred. Familiarity with medical records management and medical collection processes. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Proficient in using billing software and systems; experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
