Outpatient Billing Manager 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 150 Broad Street, Hamilton, NY 13346

Primary Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee all outpatient billing activities, ensuring compliance with Medicare and NYS Medicaid regulations. Implement and maintain billing processes that align with current policies, including wrap payments and MCVR reporting. Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to ensure accurate documentation and coding of services. Stay informed about changes in billing regulations and policies, particularly those affecting RH Cs and CAHs in NYS. Provide training and support to billing staff to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with IT and EMR support teams to address system limitations and implement necessary workarounds or upgrades.

Position Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in health administration, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in outpatient billing within a CAH and RHC environment. In-depth knowledge of Medicare billing guidelines, including wrap payments and cost reporting. Extensive experience with NYS Medicaid billing processes, especially for RH Cs not participating in the APG payment system. Proficiency in managing billing operations using legacy EMR systems, particularly Medent. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex billing data and regulations. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a track record of effectively managing billing teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in Medical Billing or Health Information Management. Experience with McBride audits and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) wrap payments. Familiarity with stop-loss initiatives and their impact on outpatient billing.
