Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Position Available In Nassau, New York

Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Primary Care Clinic Wantagh, NY 11793 South Shore Healthcare Billing and Collections is a billing company located in Wantagh, New York. We are searching for an experienced certified biller and coder to work in our office. The billing specialist will monitor claims and approvals, and coordinate internally and externally, to ensure uninterrupted service provision. This position is responsible for all verbal and written documentation as required by payers.

Billing and Collections Position Summary:

Under the direction of the supervisor, the outpatient billing and collections specialist will be responsible for accurate and timely medical billing and following up with insurance carriers for claims submitted.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Submitting claims to insurance carriers. Reviewing and responding to any claim rejections or denials. Performing following up on all outstanding appeals and claims in accordance with established standards and procedures. Performing all job related duties as assigned. Ability to review accounts for denial reasons and submit appeals to carriers when necessary.

Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, providers, and insurance companies. Minimum of 2 years experience proven experience in medical billing Knowledge of medical coding (ICD-9, ICD-10) and DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) systems. Experience in reading EOBs, handling denials, appeals, and submitting claims for arbitrations. Strong insurance company follow-up skills. Familiarity with medical records management and terminology. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in using medical billing software and systems is an advantage. (Dr. Chrono and Carisk). Familiarity with No Fault and Worker’s Compensation is a plus.
