The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for home care services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with healthcare regulations. Duties Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients. Utilize knowledge of ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate billing. Review patient records for completeness and accuracy before billing. Manage accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid claims and handling collections. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) regulations and guidelines. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to medical billing practices. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries regarding their bills or insurance claims. Experience Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding, including DRG, ICD-9, and ICD-10 systems. Strong understanding of medical terminology and services in home care setting. Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus. Knowledge of HHAEX is a plus Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for managing multiple accounts effectively.
