Medical Billing Specialist Position Available In Westchester, New York

Medical Billing Specialist Confidential White Plains, NY 10601 Fast paced, high volume OASAS Outpatient Clinic and Rehab facility in White Plains NY seeks an experienced organized, Medical Billing Specialist. The candidate needs to have a working knowledge or proficiency in institutional Medicaid billing and professional claims, as well as strong familiarity with OASAS, OMH or substance abuse(SUD)/mental health (MH) billing and regulations. This position requires a , compassionate individual with excellent verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate/liaise with both ourinternal team and our billing service to ensure an effective & efficient return on all claims submitted.

Requirements:

Proficiency in

ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS

codes and medical terminology as it pertains to SUD/MH services.

• Strong working knowledge related to insurance eligibility, insurance benefits, co-ins., copay, referrals and authorizations as related to overall impact on A/R
• Mentor and assist front desk in understanding their impact on revenue cycle, billing and collection efforts
• Ability to update staff on patient accounts & billing guidelines as necessary
• Work with patients on financial responsibilities and insurance coverage/issues
• Demonstrates attention to detail with skills in problem assessment, and resolution as well as the ability to participate in collaborative problem solving in complex, interdisciplinary settings.
• Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment with strong customer service skills, demonstrating tact and sensitivity in stressful situations.
• Reports directly to CEO on a daily and monthly basis regarding AR and related information and/or issues. Core Competencies Working knowledge of Microsoft programs, specifically Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel Spreadsheets.
• Prior experience with Electronic Health Records and/or Accounts Receivable software required
• Ability to work as independent self-starter, as well as part of a team, able to multi-task with solid follow-through skills in fast paced sometimes stressful environment High school graduate or GED certificate. Bachelors or Associate degree preferred.
• Outpatient (OASAS)/Mental Health (OMH) billing experience
• Minimum of 3 years medical/MH/SUD billing office experience.
• Bi-lingual English-Spanish preferred
