The Managing Editor of the Lancaster Law Review & Membership Billing Coordinator plays a vital dual role in the Lancaster Bar Association’s operations. This position is responsible for overseeing the production and publication of the weekly Lancaster Law Review , ensuring it meets professional standards for accuracy, timeliness, and presentation. In addition, the coordinator handles key billing functions, including invoicing for membership dues, advertising, and other services, helping to maintain accurate financial records and support the organization’s financial health. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a professional, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Managing Editor of the Lancaster Law Review Serve as Managing Editor of the Lancaster Law Review , overseeing all aspects of production from content collection to publication. Independently manage the collection, formatting, and proofing of legal ads, notices, and other content from members and external sources. Design and input all ads and content in Adobe InDesign, creating the journal layout with accuracy and quality standards in mind. Oversee the final proofreading, editing, and approval of the journal, coordinating with the publisher to ensure timely delivery and distribution. Generate and manage invoices for ads and subscriptions, monitoring and ensuring timely payment, and maintaining accurate ad records. Maintain compliance with publication standards and legal requirements, ensuring the Law Review meets professional and ethical guidelines. Accounts Receivable and Invoicing Create, send, and track invoices related to membership dues, advertisements, and other association services. Monitor accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection and resolving any billing discrepancies. Coordinate with the contracted bookkeeper to ensure accurate and up-to-date financial records. Other Duties As assigned.

Qualifications Sought:

Proficiency with Adobe InDesign Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills Experience in either a legal, publishing, or nonprofit setting preferred Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines Self-starter who consistently sets and achieves goals Proficiency with modern office software systems and internet-based platforms Familiarity with QuickBooks helpful College degree preferred

Job Type:

Full-time (37.5 hours/week), Monday to Friday, in-person. Upon successfully completing the probationary period, employees may qualify for flexible schedules, subject to the Executive Director’s discretion and within parameters that align with the high level of service the LBA provides.

Salary & Benefits:

The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience. The benefits package includes medical, dental, and life insurance, 10 days of vacation time per year, and 5 PTO days, and parking.
