Position Summary:
The Billing Specialist is responsible forpreparing, reviewing, and finalizing client invoices in accordancewith attorney instructions and client billing guidelines. This roleensures accurate time entry, billing compliance, and promptsubmission of invoices while collaborating with attorneys, clients,and accounting staff to resolve billing issues.
KeyResponsibilities:
Prepare and edit pre-bills, finalize invoices,and submit to clients in accordance with billing guidelines anddeadlines Collaborate with attorneys to ensure accurate time entry,billing rates, and client-specific requirements Monitor e-billingsystems (e.g., CounselLink, Legal Tracker, Tymetrix) for invoicesubmission, status updates, and rejections Research and resolvebilling discrepancies or rejected invoices in a timely mannerMaintain accurate billing records and client account informationProcess billing adjustments, write-offs, and credit memos as neededEnsure compliance with client contracts, billing policies, and lawfirm standards Respond to internal and external inquiries regardingbilling and accounts Assist with month-end close and reportingtasks as required
Qualifications:
High school diploma required;Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relatedfield preferred 2 years of billing experience, preferably in a lawfirm or professional services environment Familiarity with legalbilling systems (e.g., Aderant, Elite, ProLaw, or similar) ande-billing platforms Strong understanding of legal terminology andclient billing requirements Exceptional attention to detail,accuracy, and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Exceland billing software Ability to handle confidential informationwith discretion Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsBeacon Hill is an equal opportunity employer and individuals withdisabilities and/or protected veterans are encouraged to apply.
