Medical Billing Specialist 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 101 Plain Street, Providence, RI 02903 We are seeking a Medical Billing Associate. The right candidate must have knowledge of CPT and ICD 10 codes, insurance payor policies including verification of benefits, deductibles, claims, denials, appeals, and knowledge of tracking and obtaining prior authorizations. Some of the tasks associated with this position include: Claim preparation and submission: Using billing software to prepare claims and submit them to insurance companies Patient communication: Informing patients about outstanding balances and following up with delinquent bills Claim resolution: Investigating and appealing denied claims, and clearing up discrepancies by phone, fax, or email Posting payments Obtaining prior authorizations Qualifications 1 year medical billing experience Strong computer skills Good problem-solving and critical thinking Attention to detail and accuracy An understanding of the importance of confidentiality An ability to communicate with various staff, insurance companies and patients
