Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Billing Specialist to join our team in Greenville, South Carolina. In this Contract-to-permanent role, you will play a vital part in managing the billing processes for a defined portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance with company policies, and timely invoice distribution. As a key contributor, you will collaborate with various teams to support customer satisfaction and streamline operations in the machinery manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily billing operations for all accounts within your assigned portfolio, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Process invoices promptly, including distribution to customers and submission through customer portals.
- Verify the presence of required documentation for invoicing and escalate issues outside of company policy for management review.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to identify and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Review and manage the shipped-not-billed report weekly to prevent bottlenecks at month-end.
- Prepare and assist with billing reports as requested by the billing supervisor.
- Partner with collections and cash teams to support reconciliation efforts.
- Participate in monthly functional team meetings to address challenges and propose solutions.
- Maintain a root cause analysis report to drive continuous process improvements.
- Meet established deadlines for invoices, credits, and rebills while supporting both commercial and residential clients. Requirements
- Minimum of three years of experience in billing, preferably within the construction or manufacturing industries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address billing-related issues.
- Familiarity with standard billing procedures and acceptable accounting practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including accounting and customer service.
- Proficiency in managing accounts receivable, credit processing, and daily reconciliations.
- Effective communication skills to maintain clear and concise interactions with stakeholders.
