Position Summary:
The Patient Accounting Support Tech I, under the supervision of the Director of Patients Accounts, will assist Patient Account Representatives (PAR’s) with various duties within the Patient Accounting Department.
Qualifications:
• Assessment of overall credit worthiness by review of a consumer credit report is required. •
Education:
High school diploma required.
Experience
At least one (1) year of experience in an office setting required.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the SSI claim scrubber product to bill and follow up open patient encounter balances.
Work with PARs in the billing and follow up procedures, as well as review patient accounts files as necessary for accuracy of information.
Assist PARs with contacting payers regarding unpaid claims and research and/or ensure that questions and requests for information are addressed in a timely and professional manner to ensure resolution and reimbursement,
Assist with answering phone inquiries regarding bills, account status, and compose routine correspondence, memos, letters, etc.
Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, and PowerPoint.
Provide exemplary customer service in all interactions.
Each employee who participates in the coding, billing or claims submission process, from the initial receipt of a physician order to the receipt of payment for services, shall accurately and honestly perform his/her functions to ensure that accurate claims are submitted and the organization retains only those funds to which it is legally entitled.
Completes other duties as assigned by department leadership.
