ABOUT THE POSITION & ITS IMPACT
The Billing Specialist for Onsite’s Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) helps the organization and our clients get access to great care. This role is responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and ensuring accuracy of insurance information for all IOP clients. You’ll be instrumental in helping us navigate the complex nature of insurance billing and guide clients through this process, creating an efficient, seamless and hospitable experience.
ABOUT THE DAY-TO-DAY IN THIS ROLE
Facilitates and is responsible for the Intensive Outpatient Program’s in-network insurance billing process and collections along with administrative assistance for other teams like the Group Practice, as assigned. Review and process charges, ensuring proper coding and accurate documentation for billing purposes. Communicate with insurance companies to verify patient coverage and address any discrepancies. Identifies special policy clauses per coverage information to aid in financial and admissions decisions for the clients and Onsite staff. Ensure filings have accurate diagnosis codes to facilitate accurate and timely reimbursement Address client inquiries related to billing and provide timely resolutions for any questions or concerns. Responsible for registration paperwork process including, but not limited to, uploading paperwork into database, and filling out required information, sending receipt of paperwork email to client as needed, cross check referrals and alerting appropriate parties as needed. Responsible for all aspects of the Onsite Wellness Group Practice registration and billing process. Requirements:
IDEAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE FOR THE ROLE
We are open to candidates of all backgrounds, experience and education levels. After all, years of experience is just a number. That said, we believe that candidates with the following backgrounds will be well-suited to succeed in this role: Minimum of two-years experience in medical billing required, preferably within a behavioral health setting 2 years related work experience in health care administration, financial, insurance, customer service, claims, billing or management roles preferred Familiarity with
ICD-10, CPT
codes, HCPCS and other medical billing codes Proficiency in medical billing softwares and MS Office Ability to operate independently, highly detailed oriented and is determined to provide the best customer service to our clients
