Responsibilities:
Utilize intermediate knowledge of collection procedures, including bankruptcy laws and procedures, repossessions, and recovery to assist in the collection of delinquent accounts Communicate with members and coborrowers by telephone, email, text, and mail regarding their delinquent accounts and work with them to establish payment arrangements to bring accounts current Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities Must comply with all federal and state regulations such as Fair Credit Reporting Act (Reg V), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (Reg F), Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Act (UDAAP), Fair Housing Act, Fair Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (Reg B), Truth in Lending Act, (Reg Z), Expedited Funds Availability Act (Reg CC), Credit Card Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Patriot Act, The Privacy Act, Regulation CC, etc., as well as all Old Hickory Credit Union policies and procedures. Provide excellent customer service to members and assist them in resolving any issues related to their accounts
Requirements:
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus High school diploma or equivalent At least 1 year of financial institution collections experience Intermediate knowledge of collection procedures, including bankruptcy laws and procedures, repossessions, and recovery Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong negotiation skills and the ability to maintain tact under pressure with a professional demeanor Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software Other duties as assigned Able to pass a background check and a drug screen Candidate must successfully pass an employment credit check. Any current delinquencies or bankruptcies still showing on the credit report may result in failure of the check. The review may include, but is not limited to, past due items, late payments, unpaid charge-offs, collections (non-medical), judgments, bankruptcies, repossessions, and foreclosures.
