Collection Specialist Broward HealthCare FCU Fort Lauderdale, FL 33309 Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Collection Officer to join our credit union team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing Broward Healthcare FCU loans/Credit cards and overdraft accounts, ensuring timely collections, and maintaining positive relationships with our members . This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, excellent communication skills, and the ability to navigate and handle members issues. Duties Contact members via phone and email to collect delinquent consumer loan/credit card. Review and analyze all types of loans and accounts to determine the best approach for collection. Maintain accurate records of all communications and transactions in the credit union’s collection system. Provide exceptional member service while addressing concerns. Process collateral repossessions from start to finish. Manage all bankruptcies filings. Handle all e-Oscar consumer dispute in a timely manner. Recommend consumer loans/Credit Cards for charge-off. Continue collection efforts on charged-off consumer loans/credit cards and accounts. Process ACH payment requests. Initiate field call request and skip tracing. Post CPI (collateral protection insurance) on all uninsured collateralized loans. Assign account to third party vendor and handle local legal referrals. Prepare delinquent reports for management. Stay informed about financial concepts and industry regulations affecting collections. Skills Proficiency in collection processes and accounts receivable management Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to analyze accounts effectively and apply mathematical concepts as needed. Familiarity with financial concepts relevant to collections. Proven customer service skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
