Your Role:

Hands-On, Impactful, and Fast-Paced As the Regional Billing Manager, you will play a key leadership role, acting as the subject matter expert and escalation point for billing and collections. You will lead a team of Project Billers with a focus on precision, compliance, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with Regional Directors and the Billing and Collections Manager to maintain effective communication, support process improvements, and ensure timely and accurate billing. The Regional Billing Manager also plays a key role in guiding team operations, monitoring performance, and supporting the professional development of team members. This is a remote position, so you may be located anywhere within our footprint, which includes North Carolina, South Carolina, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, and Tennessee.

What You’ll Do:

Strategic Partnership & Communication:

Serve as the primary liaison for the assigned Regional Director, fostering a collaborative relationship to streamline processes, resolve concerns, and enhance operational efficiency.

Oversight of Billing Operations:

Manage the daily functions of project billing and initial collections, ensuring accuracy in accounting systems and adherence to contractual terms and company policies.

Contract Compliance & Data Integrity:

Interpret and validate contract provisions, including rate schedules, scope of services, and payment terms, to ensure accurate project setup and invoicing.

Performance Monitoring & Auditing:

Conduct regular audits of billing cycles and deadlines, perform monthly reviews of invoicing and collections, and oversee project closeout activities to maintain financial accuracy.

Team Leadership & Development:

Lead, train, and mentor the Project Billing Team, manage workflow, resolve conflicts, and guide collection efforts to build a high-performing, cohesive unit.

What We’re Looking For:

A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or 8+ years of comparable experience
5+ years of experience in project billing
2+ years of people management experience
The understanding of Work in Progress (WIP), experience in KPI reporting and dashboards, familiarity with the engineering industry, and proficiency with BST or AEC software, a plus Why Join S&ME?
