We’re currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Collector to join our team and help us maintain strong member relationships while ensuring the financial health of our organization. Position Summary Immediate in-person opening at our Jersey City location for an experienced Collector who will be responsible for managing a portfolio of delinquent accounts, working with borrowers to resolve past-due balances, and minimizing losses to the credit union. This role requires a proactive, empathetic, and results-driven professional with a deep understanding of collections practices and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate possesses the ability to work quickly & efficiently to resolve and recover debt. Key Responsibilities Manage and monitor a portfolio of delinquent loans. Contact members via phone, email, and written correspondence to resolve delinquent accounts. Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements in accordance with credit union policies/guidelines. Recommend accounts for repossession, foreclosure, or legal action when necessary. Maintain accurate and detailed records of all collection activities. Ensure compliance with federal and state collection laws and regulations. Collaborate with internal departments to resolve member issues and improve recovery efforts. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in collections, preferably in a credit union or financial institution. Knowledge of collection laws, credit reporting, and bankruptcy procedures. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred

Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM; 1-2 evenings per week until 8:00 PM; 2 Saturdays per month from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM.

Hours:

40 hours weekly, OT available.

Salary:

Non-exempt Salary will be based on experience, in the range of $18.00-$20.00 per hour. Hourly compensation, incentives and benefits package
