Full Job Description Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Credit/Collections Manager to join our team. This manager will be responsible for the company’s credit and collection processes to produce timely payments while minimizing bad debt. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of logistics operations.

Responsibilities:

Ø Develop, recommend, and implement credit policies and procedures that advance the short-term and long-term goals of the company. Ø Evaluate, recommend, and implement credit tracking software that compliments the company’s database system to provide the best credit risk assessment. Ø Evaluate, recommend, and engage credit reporting agencies to assess customer credit worthiness. Ø Evaluate, rate, approve or disapprove credit for new and existing customers based on credit risk assessment. Ø Assess and set credit limits for new and existing customers based on credit risk assessment. Ø Maintain credit limits, ratings, data and all pertinent collection information in the company’s database for a standardized reporting location. Ø Communicate with the customer to ensure the correct contact information for collection purposes is in the company’s database prior to invoicing. Ø Communicate with the customer to ensure the correct billing information, documentation requirements, submission method and submission location is in the company’s database for timely billing collection prior to invoicing. Ø Monitor accounts receivable aging reports to ensure timely collections and reduction of bad debt exposure. Ø Collaborate with team members to resolve billing and delivery-related disputes that impact collection activities. Ø Conduct regular credit reviews and assessments for high-volume or high-risk accounts. Ø Communicate with customers who have invoices over 30 days old, at a minimum of once per week. Ø Evaluate, recommend, and engage collection agencies and legal services when necessary to maximize collection results. Ø Enter and maintain up-to-date customer records and ensure compliance with contractual credit terms. Ø Enter and post bank deposits, credit card payments, bank wires, etc. into the company accounting system, in a timely manner. Ø Prepare daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports as required by management. Ø Meet with management weekly to provide status reports on all invoices over 45 days old and other invoices which are deemed high risk. Ø Lead, mentor, and develop a team of credit and collections specialists. The team’s development will be dictated by company needs and sales growth.
