He or she will be the primary RCM contact for all cash receipts and refunds reconciliation while providing support to the entire revenue cycle in relation to the reconciliation of cash posting and Payer/Patient recoupment and refunds management.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide support to Senior Accountant responsible for the ongoing and historical reconciliation of all payments received and posted for a healthcare entity Supervise and work closely with the Cash Receipts Specialist(s) for any issues found that need to be corrected and communicate those with the team(s) Supervise Refunds Team, ensuring accurate and efficient tracking and processing of refunds in accordance with company policies and procedures Work with third-party partner to analyze and track payer recoupments to ensure adherence to processes Review payment data received from third-party partners and match to customer accounts Tracking refund trends, identifying areas for improvement, and providing data to management regarding revenue cycle efficiency Manage third-party collection efforts regarding patient balances Work with large data sets and have a basic understanding of query results Follow all applicable government regulations including

HIPAA A Successful Candidate Must Possess:

High school diploma/ GED required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related discipline preferred With a high school diploma/GED, a minimum of seven (7) years of experience working in a healthcare environment performing cash reconciliation, recoupments and refunds required; With a Bachelor’s Degree, a minimum of five (5) years of experience working in a healthcare environment performing cash reconciliation, recoupments and refunds required Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, as well as 10 Key typing skills required Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work on multiple tasks without sacrificing quality, attention to detail, and ability to interact with staff at all levels required Ability to work independently and in a teaming, highly-collaborative environment required
