This role involves developing and implementing strategies to manage and recover outstanding debts while maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in collections, proven leadership capabilities, and exceptional communication skills to drive departmental performance and results. Key Responsibilities Strategy & Execution Develop and implement effective collections strategies to maximize debt recovery. Ensure all collection efforts comply with legal and company standards. Team Management Lead, mentor, and support a team of collections agents. Provide training and performance evaluations to improve productivity and outcomes. Account Oversight Review and assess delinquent accounts to determine next steps. Communicate with customers to negotiate payment plans, settlements, or alternative solutions. Compliance & Reporting Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collection activities. Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal policies. Generate regular performance and activity reports for upper management. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with legal, finance, and customer service teams to resolve complex cases. Maintain partnerships with external collection agencies and legal advisors. Continuous Improvement Monitor industry trends and implement best practices. Explore and introduce new tools and technologies to enhance collections efficiency. Required Skills & Qualifications In-depth knowledge of collections processes, laws, and regulations. Strong verbal and written communication skills with persuasive negotiation abilities. Proven leadership experience, capable of motivating a team to meet targets. Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities. Strong analytical skills with a data-driven decision-making approach. Proficiency in collections software and systems. Creative problem-solving capabilities and innovation in resolving complex cases. Meticulous attention to detail in documentation and communication. Strong interpersonal skills for building positive relationships with customers and internal teams. Experience Minimum 5 years of experience in credit and collections, preferably within a corporate or financial services environment. At least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role , overseeing collections teams or departments. Demonstrated success in implementing collections strategies that improved recovery rates or operational efficiency. Experience working with third-party collection agencies and legal counsel on complex recovery cases. Familiarity with relevant tools and platforms, such as collections CRM systems, billing software, and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI). Track record of maintaining compliance with FDCPA, CFPB, and other regulatory bodies.
