$16.50 an hour Job Summary We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Release of Information Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for processing requests for protected health information (PHI) in a confidential and HIPAA-compliant manner. The position is fully phone-based and ideal for someone with strong communication, organizational, and data entry skills. Responsibilities Process requests for medical records by locating and retrieving PHI in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure privacy compliance by verifying requestor identity and validating authorization requirements. Reproduce documents via scanning, faxing, or photocopying based on request specifications. Input data and track request status using internal systems. Review and verify all documentation for accuracy before releasing information. Generate invoices, cover letters, and payment notices as needed. Finalize requests upon receiving payment and update records accordingly. Use multiple software platforms and maintain consistency with client-specific procedures. Perform other administrative tasks as assigned. Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or RHIT certification preferred. 1-3 years of experience in customer service, healthcare, or records management. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Proficient in computer use and data entry. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment. Additional Info This role is 100% phone-based . Training will be provided.
