Duties Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to scheduled procedures or services. Obtain prior authorizations from insurance companies for various medical services and procedures. Review medical records and documentation to ensure compliance with insurance requirements. Communicate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and insurance representatives regarding authorization status. Maintain accurate records of all authorization requests and responses in accordance with HIPAA regulations. Assist in resolving any issues or discrepancies related to authorizations or claims processing. Stay updated on changes in managed care policies and procedures that may affect authorization processes. Experience Previous experience in a medical office or dental office setting is preferred.
