Eligibility Specialist The Woodlands Medical Specialists in Pensacola is looking for a full-time Eligibility Specialist to relay the most positive and professional image possible to patients visiting this growing practice.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Verifying eligibility for all patients, calculating accurate time of service and obtaining insurance referrals/authorizations
  • Check eligibility for office visits, procedures and/or drugs via insurance company website or via phone call to insurance rep
  • Ensure insurance is correctly entered into Practice Management system by check in/check out or scheduling staff and make corrections as needed
  • Respond to TOS requests from check in
  • Monitor email for add-ons and calculate TOS for add on appointments
  • Call patients when additional information is needed to check eligibility (new insurance information or policy number information)
  • Obtain authorizations when required per Medical Policy
  • Monitor emails from A/R team to research reasons for non-payment from insurance denials
  • Calculate correct TOS. Review account for old Greenway balances and credits, check all appointments for date you are calculating for each division and factor that into final TOS balance
  • Obtain retro authorizations when needed
  • Consistently demonstrating appropriate attention to detail and following through on outstanding tasks within an expected or reasonable timeframe
  • Partner with Care Coordinator(s) to ensure the patient is always taken care of timely
  • Partner with clinic(s) to ensure they have what they need prior to the patient’s scheduled visit
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • No specialized billing experience required but basic insurance knowledge desired
  • 1-3 years of working in healthcare field needed
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages
  • Basic computer skills are required
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities at once and be extremely detail oriented
  • Position does not lift anything but will need to be able to sit for long periods of time
Compensation & Benefits:
  • For this position, starting pay is $17+/hour, depending on experience
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with 1 hour for lunch
  • Potential to showcase what you can do and possibly earn a position within the company after working 600 hours with Landrum
