Eligibility Coordinator Full-Time Project Position with Growth Opportunities! We are currently seeking a people-oriented, civically minded individual with experience in Social Services, Human Services, HR, Public Housing, or related fields to join our team as an Eligibility Coordinator. This position is crucial for determining eligibility and distributing benefits in a timely, efficient, and courteous manner.

Full-time, Temp-to-Hire General Description:

The Eligibility Coordinator will work under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. The primary role is to determine eligibility and distribute benefits to the public efficiently and courteously.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Perform intake screening with clients; enter personal/client data into the computer; review and process applications; determine eligibility for programs by applying local, state, and federal policies. Conduct in-person interviews and telephone screenings; summarize information; recommend determinations of eligibility based on submitted information and make appropriate referrals. Review applications for accuracy and collect data; analyze and review documents submitted; advise applicants when more information is needed to determine eligibility; notify clients of the status of their application; send letters of determination. Explain housing programs to clients; answer telephone and email inquiries and record phone call logs; make referrals to outside resources and coordinate with outside agencies. Compile case files; prepare files for closing; review and close cases for 2nd party review; review difficult cases with supervisor to determine eligibility. Perform related work as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

High school diploma or GED equivalent Two years of experience in human services, counseling, crisis intervention, or a closely related field Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual is a plus but not required Excellent customer service and strong administrative skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Ability to multitask and manage time effectively Ability to work independently and as part of a team Why Join Us?
