Our Counselors perform the following duties: Accept referrals from the Elder Helpline as well as other resources for intake and screening. Input client telephone screening and related notes into client database. Assist the individual in acquiring forms and compiling required documentation, provide technical assistance, coordinate with eligibility determination professionals, and perform all other duties related to completing and submitting a Medicaid application. Assist the individual in collecting and gathering required information and documents for the Medicaid application. Conduct community outreach to ensure public awareness of Medicaid programs and services. Counselors must possess the following skills: Knowledge of computer applications to perform the functions of the position, including proficiency with Microsoft applications. The ability to work independently and with minimal supervision. Ability to work with adults living with disabilities, older adults, caregivers, stakeholders, and community partners in a knowledgeable, engaged, and compassionate manner. Ability to set and track personal performance goals to efficiently manage workload. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Excellent customer service, business writing, communication, and administrative/clerical skills. Qualified candidates must have a valid Florida driver’s license and automobile liability insurance. In addition, qualified candidates must successfully pass Level II Background Screening.
