Full Time Introduction:
The Insurance Specialist for
LVI/VCS/ASC
provides support for the clinic in the insurance verification and authorization process for procedures and will individually, or as part of a part of team, work to achieve assigned goals. An Insurance Specialist ensures accurate and timely insurance eligibility and coverage information for patients, often interacting with insurance companies and patients to verify coverage details, obtain pre-authorizations, and address related inquiries. Responsibilities include updating patient information, documenting interactions, and resolving billing issues.
Job Objectives:
Responsible for verifying and interpreting insurance eligibility utilizing third-party insurance verifier, phone and company websites Obtain insurance authorization to ensure precertification, and referral requirements are met prior to delivery of services Review daily clinic and LVI schedules for necessary prior authorizations and referrals for scheduled and unscheduled patients. Obtain, interpret and submit procedural and specific services authorizations to the appropriate insurance and payors. Process incoming and outgoing referrals in eCW and MedInformatix. Scan referral/authorization documents into eClinical Works and MedInformatix. Enter documentation into each referral account. Disseminate authorizations, referrals and documentation for scheduling. Schedule Peer to Peer reviews Other related work as assigned.
Education and Experience:
4 year college degree preferred 1 – 2 years in either medical sales or physicians relations. Working knowledge of radiology procedures is preferred

Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff and patients and the ability to work independently Excellent patient care and customer service Ability to manage work lists and prioritize workflow Excellent communication skills with management, staff and patients Maintain and uphold HIPAA regulations
