As one of the primary points of contact for our department, our Senior Clerks play a crucial role in ensuring that individuals receive the care and support they need.

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Greet and assist visitors with warmth and professionalism as they arrive at the health department.
Answer incoming calls promptly and direct them to the appropriate department or staff member.
Schedule appointments for OB clients using our Electronic Health System.
Verify insurance coverage and assist clients with insurance-related inquiries and screening for the Sliding Fee Discount Program.
Collaborate closely with other staff members to ensure seamless coordination of OB services.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including MS Outlook, WORD, and EXCEL
Able to change easily from one task to another
Relate well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations
Manages a variety of responsibilities in a timely, efficient manner and able to prioritize tasks

Qualifications:

Minimum – Valid driver’s license
High School diploma or equivalent
Obtain Incident Command System (ICS-100) certification within 60 days and National Incident Management System (IS-700) certification within 90 days of employment
Complete the Family Planning Title X mandatory trainings within 30 days of employment Preferred – Experience working in a clinical setting
Experience verifying insurance coverages
English/Spanish or English/Portuguese bilingual
