We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team in Sarasota. In this role, you will be responsible for verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits, obtaining necessary authorizations, and ensuring accurate pre-registration and financial transparency ahead of scheduled services.

Key Responsibilities:

Verify health insurance benefits and eligibility status for patients through electronic systems and direct contact with payers. Assist in obtaining prior authorizations as needed, ensuring accurate determination of coverage levels. Complete pre-registration for all assigned accounts a minimum of 7 days before the scheduled service date, whenever possible. Identify and communicate co-payments, coinsurance amounts, and any policy limitations to patients. Collect patient responsibility amounts prior to services being rendered. Monitor and follow up on any missing authorizations. If authorization is not received within 48 hours of the scheduled service date, initiate patient outreach to explore alternative options-such as rescheduling, coordinating with the physician’s office, or proceeding without authorization if applicable.

Requirements:

Radiology experience is required. High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred. Previous experience in healthcare insurance verification, medical billing, or patient access strongly preferred. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Familiarity with insurance portals and electronic medical records systems is a plus.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM No weekends or holidays

Compensation:

Starting at $18/hour, with flexibility based on experience
