FORT VALLEY STATE UNIVERSITY
(FVSU), a state and land-grant institution of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the position of Enrollment Associate. Fort Valley State University, the only 1890 land-grant university in Georgia, is a comprehensive institution that provides an education to over 2,800 students including graduate students. The university is located in the town of Fort Valley in Peach County, the original site of the state’s peach industry. Its 1,365-acre (5.52 km2) campus is Georgia’s second-largest public university in area. JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the processing enrollment documents and facilitating the admission process for all incoming students.
MAJOR DUTIES
Assist in the processing and receipt of incoming admission applications and enrollment documents (ex: transcripts, test scores, supporting documents, etc. Learn and utilize all available document management systems integrated through the FVSU admission process while maintain accurate, confidential student records. Manage Dual Enrollment process and communicate with Dual Enrollment students, their parents, and associated school counselors. Support on-campus Admissions events such as Open House, campus tours, and other events. Provide exemplary customer service experience to prospective students, guests, and the campus community Perform other tasks as assigned by the Executive Director.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with higher education operations. General understanding of CRM technology and their best practices, support, and functionality Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and disseminate significant student prospect information with attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to efficiently and effectively solve problems, prioritize time according to tasks, initiate and implement projects independently. Excellent customer service, attention to detail, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills are required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or bachelor’s degree in related field required One year of professional experience in admissions, or demonstrated experience in data collection, record keeping, and customer service. Documented history of successfully learning and leveraging technology in the workplace.
COMPLEXITY/SCOPE OF WORK
The work consists of varied duties in directing the university’s admissions functions. The variety of tasks to be managed contributes to the complexity of the position.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work is typically performed in an office. The work typically requires driving for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and assemble/disassemble display materials.
