The Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) subsidized program is a state work experience program designed to provide those who meet TANF eligibility requirements with real life work experience. Interested applicants are not required to currently or have ever received TANF benefits; however, must meet the eligibility requirement.
TANF eligibility requirements are:
one qualifying child under the age of 18 and gross household ie under the 300% Federal Poverty Level guideline for household size. This program is not geared for long term employment. These positions are time-limited and based on available funding.
Job Summary & Responsibility:
Performs general office management duties, including keyboarding, filing, generating, and managing correspondence. Provides / coordinates services to clients, families and partners that call or visit the local office.
Provides follow-up and /or customer service to resolve any issues
Receives and routes telephonemunications as required
Screens and registers applications for all OFI Eligibility programs offered as required Routinely uses electronic application, Document Imaging, and eligibility systems. Maintains confidential records
Uses Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment to perform daily work assignments. Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED AND One year of full-time work experience providing customer support or technical assistance.
Preferred Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who, in addition to meeting the TANF eligibility requirements, the minimum qualifications and demonstrates some or all the following skills/experience: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, to include Word and Excel and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
