Referrals Specialist Location:
Amherst, MA Hours:
40 hours, Monday-Friday generally between 8:30am-5:00pm. Hours may vary depending on department needs. Exact schedule to be discussed at time of interview. The Referrals Specialist will provide referrals processing support to patients and VMG Practitioners. The Referrals Specialist will be responsible for reaching out to VMG patients to schedule appointments with specialist offices outside of Valley Medical Group.
Job Responsibilities:
Research and process referrals and authorizations Verify insurance eligibility and applicable benefits
Required Qualifications:
High school degree or GED Basic knowledge of medical terminology Minimum two years of customer service experience
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Previous referral and/ or claims processing experience in a healthcare organization preferred EMR experience, Athena experience a plus If you do not meet all of the preferred qualifications, we strongly encourage you to apply and/ or inquire.
