Bachelor’s degree Associate’s degree 2 years Full Job Description Description Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states. We are now hiring an Intake Specialist in Brooklyn, NY. The Intake Specialist is responsible for individuals’ benefits and entitlements. This position requires travel to Brooklyn and Manhattan regions. Starting Pay is $65,0000 per/year Responsibilities Assure compliance with all eligibility requirements Complete all SSI eligibility packets as social security (SS) requests them Assist with collecting all the necessary documentation for Medicaid redeterminations Point person to contact SS for all and any updated income letters Submit and follow up with SS regarding rep payee applications Manage the admissions and discharge process for individuals receiving supports and services including completing and maintaining all intake/discharge documentation Manage the benefits and entitlements for all individuals receiving supports and services, which includes OTDA and SNAP benefits Work closely with operations management to ensure assets and bank accounts (RFMS) are in good standing to maintain benefits Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation Minimum Requirements Knowledge and understanding of local and regional regulatory operations At least 2 years experience managing benefits (Medicaid, Social Security, Medicare) Understanding and commitment to community-based support for persons with disabilities Experience with intake and admissions Working knowledge of ICD-10 codes Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s or associate degree preferred) At least two years’ experience preferably with a background in admissions, social services Employment is contingent upon successful completion of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing Working Conditions May be required to be on-call in cooperation with other management staff Moderate overtime required throughout the year Minimal hazards, general office working conditions Why Community Options?
