Job Description

Fraud Specialist 3.1 3.1 out of 5 stars New York, NY 10036 #PartTime We are seeking a highly skilled Fraud Specialis t to join our Call Center team. This role is critical in protecting our customers and company assets by analyzing financial transactions for signs of fraud. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the fintech and e-commerce industries, a strong analytical mindset, and a minimum of 2 years in fraud prevention.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Analyze financial transactions to detect suspicious activity and potential fraud. Investigate and resolve fraud cases efficiently and accurately. Work closely with internal departments such as Customer Service, Chargebacks, and Risk Management. Develop and implement strategies to minimize fraudulent activities. Maintain detailed and organized case notes and reports. Identify patterns and emerging threats to recommend proactive solutions. Communicate professionally with customers, banks, and vendors regarding fraud-related matters. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in fraud prevention, preferably within the fintech and e-commerce sectors. Strong understanding of fraud detection tools, chargeback management, and risk assessment. Familiarity with transaction monitoring systems and case management software. Analytical and detail-oriented with strong investigative skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required (experience will be considered in lieu of education). Experience with Kount, Sift, Shift4, or similar fraud management platforms. Knowledge of chargeback representment processes. Understanding of AML (Anti-Money Laundering) and PCI Compliance standards.

Physical Demands:

Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time. Manual dexterity is required for operating office machinery (phone, computer, copy machines, binding equipment, etc.). Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to utilize computer monitor and keyboard.
