Discover why NCDIT is the ideal destination for your professional growth – Why Work for NCDIT We currently have an opening for an Executive Assistant The position is designated Statutory Exempt and is exempt from the State Human Resources Act This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agency’s remote work program but does require weekly onsite work The Executive Assistant position primarily provides administrative support to the Deputy Secretary of Broadband and Digital Equity, as well as all members of the Division of Broadband and Digital Opportunity. This position is highly visible and requires a comprehensive understanding of the Division’s broadband mission and work. This position is the lead administrative position for the Division, including the Broadband Infrastructure Office and the Office of Digital Equity and Literacy. This position manages the Division of Broadband and Digital Opportunity’s correspondence, scheduling, travel, procurement, and personnel needs, and must be able to train Division employees on relevant workflows. This position will also support multiple concurrent procurement and grant programs with a high degree of complexity and visibility. Duties include, but are not limited, to: Manages standardized office support assignments and performance of administrative duties that require excellent decision-making and judgment Coordinates business functions of the Division of Broadband and Digital Opportunity including budget needs, human resources administration, procurement activity, ServiceNow tickets, correspondence, facilities administration, and other office administration needs Coordinates calendars, appointments, and travel for Division Position is central to the functioning of the Division and the delivery of its critical priorities Provides administrative support and scheduling assistance to other members of the NCDIT senior leadership team as assigned About the Organization The N.C. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To qualify for this position, applicants must document on the application that they possess ALL of the following: Experience coordinating across business functions such as budget, procurement, human resources, etc. Experience providing administrative support and scheduling assistance to senior leaders Experience providing operational support to large programs (e.g., ensuring smooth day-to-day operations, improving customer satisfaction, establishing clear communication channels, documenting standard operating procedures, proactive and preventative monitoring, continuous process improvement, identifying operational bottlenecks, etc.) The following Management Preferences are not required, but applicants that possess these skills are preferred: Experience providing reports using either PowerBI or Tableau or similar program Experience with SharePoint, eProcurement, ServiceNow or similar software/platforms Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Some state job postings say you can qualify by an ‘equivalent combination of education and experience.’ If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both. HYBRID/FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES
