THIS IS AN EXEMPT APPOINTMENT IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEW YORK STATE CIVIL SERVICE LAW. WHILE AN EXAMINATION IS NOT REQUIRED FOR APPOINTMENT, THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST MEET THE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AS OUTLINED BELOW.
JOB DUTIES:

The Executive Assistant to the Superintendent provides high-level, confidential administrative support to the Superintendent of Schools. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the Superintendent’s office, coordinating communications, overseeing sensitive documentation, and serving as a liaison between the Superintendent and internal and external stakeholders. Duties include preparing and proofreading executive correspondence, managing calendars and schedules, coordinating major meetings and events, compiling reports, and supporting district-wide initiatives. The role requires strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly confidential environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from a New York State registered or regionally accredited two-year college or business school with a degree in secretarial science or a closely related field with similar course curriculum and two (2) years of secretarial experience which should include public contact; OR Graduation from high school and five (5) years of secretarial experience which shall have included public contact; OR Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an Associate’s Degree in Secretarial Science; OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience as described in the above paragraphs sufficient to indicate ability to do the work.
