Director of Victim Services Position Summary:

The Advocate & Forensic Interviewer plays a critical role in supporting child victims of abuse, adult survivors of sexual assault, and their non-offending caregivers. This position provides trauma-informed advocacy, coordinates referrals to medical, legal, and community resources, and conducts forensic interviews as part of a multidisciplinary team. Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required. Duties and Responsibilities to include but not limited to: Advocacy & Client Services Provide trauma-informed advocacy to child victims, adult sexual assault survivors, and non-offending caregivers according to CACGA and NCA best practices. Coordinate services for clients, including referrals to medical, legal, therapeutic, and community-based supports. Offer crisis counseling and emotional support to clients during and after forensic interviews or medical exams. Provide accompaniment to forensic medical exams and court proceedings when necessary. Educate clients on victims’ rights and the criminal justice process. Assist with applications for Victim Compensation and other supportive services. Monitor ongoing client needs, conduct follow-ups, and adjust services as needed. Promote a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all clients, following a trauma-informed, client-centered model. Assist in organizing and conducting monthly teen girl outreach groups. Represent the center at outreach events and training as needed. Forensic Interviews Conduct recorded forensic interviews of children alleged to be victims of abuse in coordination with law enforcement and DFCS. Participate in monthly peer reviews with other child advocacy centers across the state to ensure interview quality and consistency. Provide court testimony related to interviews and cases as needed. Administrative & Coordination Maintain detailed, confidential client records in systems including Collaborate, Caseworthy, and internal spreadsheets. Coordinate child intake appointments with non-offending caregivers, law enforcement, and DFCS. Ensure proper handling, filing, and secure storage of evidence and chain of custody documentation. Submit evidence packets to law enforcement and district attorney offices in a timely and organized manner. Maintain compliance with all CJCC reporting, eligibility verification, and documentation requirements. Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 crisis hotline coverage. Center Environment & Team Support Greet and orient clients upon arrival, ensuring comfort and care. Maintain cleanliness and safety of the office, participating in scheduled and regular upkeep. Attend ongoing trainings to stay current in trauma-informed care, forensic interviewing, and advocacy best practices. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or a related field preferred. Experience working with children, victims of trauma, or in advocacy roles is strongly preferred. Completion or willingness to complete state-approved forensic interview and advocacy training. Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in high-emotion environments. High level of confidentiality and professionalism. Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Bilingual in Spanish preferred, but not required. Pay and Benefits Position is 40 hours per week Salary range is $45,000-$50,000 Paid vacation and sick leave 1 Mental Health Day per month 11 Paid Holidays per year
