Forensic Interviewer Wesley House Community Center, Inc. Meridian, MS 39301

Job Summary:

The Forensic Interviewer’s primary role is to conduct forensic interviews of children, adolescents, and vulnerable adults referred for allegations of sexual abuse, felony physical abuse, or witnesses to violent crimes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Forensic Interviewer is responsible for, but not limited to the following duties:

  • Provide Forensic interviews
  • The Forensic Interviewer will work closely with the Multidisciplinary Team while giving each member access to the information that is needed to fulfill their professional role and to ensure that their informational needs are met.
  • Communicate and provide written reports of Interviews to the proper investigative agencies within a timely manner.
  • Provide fact and/or expert witness testimony in court when requested for prosecution and defense when necessary.
  • Meeting and communicating with multidisciplinary team to discuss referrals needed; maintaining current records on each child.
  • Conducting and documenting follow-up services for clients served and representatives as it relates to the criminal case.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings; communicating and acting as a liaison with partner agencies in a timely manner.
  • Participate in ongoing community education and awareness of sexual assault, child abuse, agency services, etc. by attending community events and/or presenting to local agencies, schools, civic groups, etc.
  • Complete all required weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual, and as needed reports as required by funding and accreditation sources
  • Participating in case staffing meetings.
  • Participate in ongoing continuing education; including but not limited to MS Forensic Interview Peer Reviews
  • Tracking of case statistics.
  • Attending all training as directed by the Executive.
  • Any other duties assigned by the Executive Director.
  • Answer Crisis Line calls through on-call rotation with other staff Will work in both Meridian and Philadelphia, MS office locations
Qualifications Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, related field or equivalent experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of child abuse dynamics and child development.
  • Complete the Child First Mississippi Forensic Interview and Court Preparation Training
  • Demonstrate discretion, maturity, integrity and compassion in handling sensitive issues
  • Strong written, communication and verbal skills; communicate effectively with persons from all components of the community; exceptional problem solving and organizations skills
  • Willingness to work with a flexible schedule when necessary Must be able to pass a criminal and child abuse registry background check Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$19.00 – $23.00 per hour
