The Jackson, MS, office of Balch & Bingham LLP has an opening for a Legal Secretary in our litigation practice area. The candidate for this position will be successful if they can execute a variety of administrative duties of a confidential nature. These tasks include working with attorneys, paralegals, and other members of the firm with a series of administrative functions. Therefore, the candidate will have to have effective time management and organizational skills coupled with being detail oriented.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and edit legal documents and correspondence including letters, memos, dictation, briefs, pleadings, and reports. Organize and maintain files. Maintain and track schedules, deadlines, and calendars. Schedule meetings and conferences. Coordinate travel arrangements. Answer incoming telephone calls. Enter, edit, and finalize billable time and client billings, adhering to Outside Counsel Guidelines for multiple clients. Research and respond to inquiries and requests for information. Provide other support as necessary.

Skills and Qualifications:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites and video conferencing platforms. Knowledge of ABA Litigation Codes for proper assignment to matters. Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other team members. Ability to handle and adjust to competing deadlines and priorities. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Client service focused. Prior litigation experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Some overtime may be required.
