Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Legal Secretary to join our team in Morristown, New Jersey. This is a long-term contract position offering the opportunity to work closely with legal professionals in a collaborative environment. The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while supporting associates and attorneys.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive support to 2-3 associates, ensuring smooth workflow and effective communication.
- Handle filing tasks using the Leap system, maintaining accurate and organized records.
- Manage attorneys’ calendars, scheduling appointments and ensuring timely coordination of meetings.
- Prepare materials and documentation for in-person meetings, ensuring all necessary information is readily available.
- Assist with court filings, adhering to deadlines and legal requirements.
- Utilize billing functions to process invoices and maintain accurate financial records.
- Maintain proficiency in case management software to support legal processes effectively.
- Foster strong client relations by addressing inquiries and ensuring a positive experience.
- Collaborate on briefing tasks, compiling relevant information and documentation.
- Coordinate with the Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) to manage property-related filings. Requirements
- Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or in a similar role within a legal environment.
- Proficiency in Aderant, Leap, and other case management systems.
- Strong skills in Adobe Acrobat and familiarity with legal documentation.
- Knowledge of Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for property filings.
- Experience with calendar management and docket coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to handle court filings and legal documentation with accuracy.
- Familiarity with billing functions and financial record-keeping.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to support legal professionals effectively.
