Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Office Clerk to support our managing paralegal and attorneys with administrative and clerical tasks that drive case progress. This role also provides general office support and serves as a backup for front desk operations, including answering phones and greeting visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with requesting, redacting, compiling, and drafting documents for attorney/paralegal review Open and update client records in the firm’s database Ensure accurate document storage in client folders Support paralegals in drafting legal documents and preparing settlement packages for agencies such as DOE, OLS, NPSP, and IHOIU Maintain and update Excel spreadsheets Communicate with clients and schools to obtain necessary documentation Prepare and follow up on reports (initial, mid-year, end-of-year) Track pendency orders and assist with disclosure packet preparation Review stipulations and prepare related worksheets and settlement documents Maintain organized file systems accessible to the team Save and review transcripts as needed Provide front desk support as needed
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred Minimum 2 years of relevant administrative or clerical experience Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Strong attention to detail and adherence to procedures Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines independently Excellent written and verbal communication skills
