None What You Will Do :
Under general supervision, the PFS Clinical Trials Coder/Biller will code medical documents and/or charge tickets as assigned in the clinical trials department. If requested by a Supervisor, they will provide technical guidance and training on medical coding to physicians and/or other department and staff. Responsible for maintaining knowledge of AMA guidelines, billing compliance and performs all other duties as required. Responsible for performing clinical trial research, billing and coding, charge corrections and price quotes. Perform processes specific to coding for clinical trials. Assigns required
CPT/ICD/ASA/ HCPCS
codes and/or modifiers as needed per documentation. Inspect each case for missing information and gives to appropriate party for follow up. Identify “canceled cases” and follows departmental guidelines. Research all cases that could be “study related”. Resolve interactive edits Review encounter to determine the appropriate action required. Examined documents in various programs (HealthQuest/CTBN Central, etc.) for missing information. Furnish liaisons with facts to help clear edits. Verify all written communication is grammatically correct and free of typographical errors. Validate claims through the billing system.
What You Will Need :
High School Diploma or equivalent 0-2 years of relevant medical coding experience Working knowledge of hospital medical billing Knowledge of medical billing terminology Certified Professional Coder (CPC), (CCS-P) or will consider (CPC-A)
