ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Ensure all patient demographic and insurance is accurately entered into practice management system 2. Verify eligibility and benefit information with insurance company 3. Code and enter daily patient activity with the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes into practice management system 4. Follow established check and balance systems to ensure accuracy 5. Assist in billing office calls 6. Post patient and insurance payments 7. Assist in claim denial research
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
1. Detail oriented and possesses excellent analytical skills 2. Excellent organizational skills 3 Team player 4. Motivated self-starter 5. Work under limited supervision with ability to understand and meet deadlines as workload necessitates 6. Ensure applicable laws and regulations of working with confidential information are adhered to 7. Must be able to plan and prioritize workflow.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
1. Medical Billing/Coding Diploma/Certificate or 2 years equivalent experience 2. Experience in medical office setting 3. Proficient knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT coding 4. Excellent computer skills 5. Skill to communicate (verbal, written, oral) in a tactful and positive manner. ‘
