Medical Biller/Collector Palm Coast Health Care Services Palm Coast, FL 32164 Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process focused on Secondary Insurance Carriers, Denials, Rejections, Patient Co-Pays, ensuring accurate submission of claims, and maintaining patient records. This role requires a solid understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and regulations related to medical billing. Duties Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers in a timely manner. Review and verify patient information, including insurance coverage and eligibility. Software knowledge for claim submission, benefit verification, prior authorizations and the like, such as Availity. Utilize coding systems such as ICD-10 and DRG to ensure accurate billing. Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies. Maintain detailed records of billing activities, payments received, and outstanding balances. Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance. Provide support in the management of medical office operations as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred. Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10, DRG) and medical terminology is essential. Strong understanding of medical collection processes and practices. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team within a fast-paced environment. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant software applications. Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
