Medical Biller and Coder DRG Pain & Orthopedics Leesburg, FL 34788 Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing billing processes, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating the collection of payments from patients and insurance companies. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. Responsibilities Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 coding systems. Review and process medical claims for submission to insurance companies. Manage accounts receivable, including following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies. Maintain patient records and ensure all billing information is complete and accurate. Communicate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in medical records or billing information. Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices. Collaborate with the collections team to ensure timely payment from patients and insurers. Experience Proven experience in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred. Familiarity with medical terminology, medical records management, and medical coding practices is essential. Knowledge of DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) systems is advantageous. Experience with medical collections processes is a plus. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required for maintaining accurate records. Proficiency in using billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.
