Review patient records to ensure all necessary documentation is complete for billing purposes. Handle medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and communicating with insurance companies. Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and billing regulations to ensure compliance with industry standards. Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve any discrepancies related to billing or coding issues. Generate and send patient invoices while ensuring clarity and accuracy in charges. Assist in the management of accounts receivable by tracking payments and outstanding balances. Utilize various systems for billing processes, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Qualifications Proven experience in medical billing and coding is preferred. Familiarity with ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and other relevant coding systems is essential. Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare regulations. Experience with medical collections processes is a plus. Proficient in using billing software and office systems; familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems is advantageous. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills are required.
